Fishing in Colorado

I haven't been a good blogger this summer. I have been busy and have several posts in my head so I'll get started with this one.

One of our favorite places to camp in our trailer is in Salida, Colorado. We started going there in the summers when Ashley was working at Wilderness Trek. It was the first place we took our trailer for an extended stay. While we are there, Sandy loves to fish at Frantz Lake which is just on the edge of town.
Ashley told me that this is a great view of Mt. Shavano.

Doogie also enjoys resting at the lake but thinks he has to protect us from the ducks!

I'm not sure the ducks were too frightened by him though.

Frantz Lake is such a peaceful place.

Another place we like to go so Sandy can fish is Fooses Lake which is
west of Salida on the way up to Monarch Pass.

Sandy's brother, Pete, was in Salida also and they fished here together. They caught LOTS of fish but didn't keep any. They were catching and releasing them. I accused them of catching the same ones over and over.

Doogie didn't have to chase ducks off here but did enjoy getting a drink.
